When it comes to taking care of our houses, we usually think about the most obvious things. These would include such things as mowing the lawn, vacuuming the floors, and taking the trash out. These seem to be the areas of your home that get the most attention, anyway. Of course, one area that is just as important (if not more so) but is often overlooked would be the roof. Leaks

Thus, when you call a roofing professional, don’t have them stop at just inspecting the roof. Have them examine the attic while they’re at it as well.

Missing Shingles

Missing shingles is another crisis that can happen to your roof during the winter. Coastal Window & Exteriors reports that California winter storms bring high winds that can top 55 mph, which can damage and even blow away your shingles, leaving you exposed. If you notice that your roof is missing some shingles, then it’s time for you to call a roofing company as soon as possible.

Tree Limbs

If you are privy to a sudden cold snap, the ice can work on your trees and cause them to collapse and scrape against your roof, damaging it by ripping off it’s protective covering. Frank’s Tree Service points out that you can prevent this by inspecting the trees near your home and having them trimmed before winter.
